Practical operating checklist for testing, diagnostics, and release readiness.

Bring-up checklist (new install)

Flash firmware and filesystem images for matching release.
Confirm web UI loads over AP or STA path.
Run setup mapping and generation selection.
Save settings, then verify values in diagnostics and home display.
Start in stock/off, then run low-risk lock mode validation.

Tuning test sequence

Baseline test in conservative lock mode.
Enable one dynamic mode at a time (SPEED, THROTTLE, RPM, then MAP).
Keep safety gates configured while iterating curves/maps.
Use CAN view and diagnostics to verify telemetry consistency during real scenarios.
Record logs for anomalies before changing multiple variables at once.

Diagnostics workflow for issues

Check GET /api/status first (mode, telemetry, mappings, CAN readiness).
Use CAN view decoded panel to validate expected source signals are active.
Use CAN dump capture to collect reproducible traces for offline analysis.
Use file logs (all, can, error) for timestamped evidence.

Common failure categories

Release readiness checklist

Firmware build reproducible from pinned PlatformIO environment.
UI pages validated for mode control, setup save, and endpoint writes.
Curves/maps validate and persist correctly across reboot.
OTA update path validated against release assets and version.json flow.
Logs path validated (list/read/delete/clear) and storage capacity remains healthy.
User and technical docs updated to match current firmware behavior.
